The Kingdom of Swaziland is a small land-locked country located in Southern Africa. It is just south of the Kruger National Park and shares boundaries with South Africa and Mozambique.

The countryside is diverse ranging from a lowland plain running North to South bounded by the Lebombo mountain range to the East. In the West the land rises up to the central plateau of South Africa, this area is particularly beautiful and includes impressive granite outcrops.

The people of Swaziland number just over 1 million, most of whom maintain many of the cultural traditions of their forebearers. The Head of State is King Mswati III but there is also an elected parliament. Unlike in a lot of other countries the population is still predominantly rural.

Visitors will be impressed by how developed Swaziland has become with its good road infrastructure plus thriving industrial and commercial sectors. However, it is still a developing country and struggles with many problems especially poverty and disease. The creation of wealth through trade is one way to help address these issues and SMI is proud to play a part in this regard.
